About Taus
Taus is a Copenhagen-based ready-to-wear and demi-couture studio founded in 2024 by Freyja Taus and Juho Lehiö.
Rooted in craftsmanship and slowness, Taus approaches fashion not as novelty, but as dialogue — between past and present, object and body, maker and wearer. Each piece is part of a wider exploration: of identity, of class, of what it means to dress with intention.
Our Practice
We work slowly. We cut with care.
Every garment begins with a question — not of trend, but of time.
Taus pieces are either made in our Copenhagen studio or in collaboration with a small group of artisans across Europe. Our production prioritizes made-to-order and bespoke models, reducing waste while preserving the intimacy of the craft.
Sustainability is not a marketing term — it is a rhythm. A way of working.
Philosophy
We believe in garments that hold weight — emotionally, ethically, materially.
That a hem can carry memory. That a seam can suggest softness or strength.
Influenced by heirlooms, vintage tailoring, and archival silhouettes, Taus reinterprets the past to shape a modern wardrobe.
Our collections are shaped by the lens of queer identity and the complexities of class, themes central to the work of our founders.
The Process
What we make, we make with time.
Every step, from sketch to final stitch, is intentional.
We design garments to be worn and re-worn. To age gracefully. To be passed down.
At Taus, the process is never hidden. It is the story.
